brian lumley02250 About Brian LumleyBrian Lumley is a writer of horror fiction. He was born in County Durham, England, on December 2, 1947. He currently resides in Torquay, Devon, England with his wife, Barbara Ann.

While serving with the British Army’s Royal Military Police, Brian Lumley wrote stores in his off time.

In 1980, after 22 years of service in the RMP, Brian Lumley retired with the rank of Warrant Officer Class 1 and became a writer full time.

Heavily influenced by H.P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu Mythos and Dream cycle stories, Brian Lumley added to both of these mythos with stories of his own, several of them featuring characters such as Titus Crow, David Hero and Eldin the Wanderer.

Brian Lumley’s Breakthrough Novel

In 1984, Brian Lumley created the Necroscope series of novels, starting with Necroscope. These novels led to three series of spin-offs: The Vampire World Trilogy, The Lost Years duology, and the E-Branch trilogy (a.k.a. The Invaders trilogy) respectively.

The main character, Harry Keogh, also appears in the anthology Harry Keogh and Other Weird Heroes.

The Necroscope series came to its conclusion with the publication of Necroscope: The Plague-Bearer. Please note: this novel is pricey as it was published in limited and special hard cover editions only through Subterranean Press.

Brian Lumley’s Achievements
